Emily Bergsten

Emily Bergsten . Campus Life Club Leader

Campus Life is a place where kids are loved.  Not based on behavior or status, but based on WHO they are.  I love getting a chance to love students right where they are at. To be a place in their life that is free of judgment. To get to know them, value their lives, and pray for their hearts.  All without the pressure of having to change them, because God is the only one who can do that!

I just LOVE youth!  My husband and I would choose to hang out with students over our adult friends any day of the week! (No offense to our dear friends)  I remember a time when I just couldn’t talk to my mom, and youth leaders had a huge impact on me.

My dad is a senior pastor, and my mom is a youth director.  I grew up watching my parents pour into the lives of others for the sake of the gospel.  Now I’m married to a youth pastor.  I have a strong desire to give students a glimpse of who God is.  I want to be real with students, being honest about my own brokenness, and need for a savior.  That way they can see what it looks like to walk with God in a real way. I am on this earth to tell people about Jesus!  It is my purpose!

More About Emily

My husband James is a youth pastor, and on YFC staff.  He is amazing at what he does.  He is the ultimate energy creator.  We have the privilege of doing ministry together! We have 3 kids, Gavin, Chloe, and Will. They love going to clubs, and hanging out with students.  My children pray for the hearts of kids, and ache for them to know Jesus.  They are becoming Kingdom laborers right alongside us, and it is fun to watch!
