Jared Stewart

Jared Stewart. Millard West Campus Life Director

I'm passionate about youth because they face so much uncertainty and turbulence in their lives (and because they're so much fun if you get to know them). When I was a kid, I thought I knew it all and had all the right answers.  I was wrong.  Now I try to come alongside our students, and humbly and graciously assist parents and churches as we guide our students through this mess called adolescence - a time of life when many other adults write them off.

I’m in my thirties now, but I’m still a kid at heart! There are so many things that I love about Campus Life/YFC and the impact we have on youth.  Like a kid, I love to listen to music, eat food and play games.  Those things are tools that God uses at Campus Life  to help me build intentional relationships with students, with the purpose of sharing the truth of Jesus with them!

One of the best parts of my job, is YFC's emphasis on relational evangelism. I've seen first-hand how relationships can open doors and break down walls, allowing the Gospel message of Jesus to penetrate someone's heart.  Without these relationships, the Gospel can certainly still be presented, but unfortunately it is often done in a culturally (or personally) irrelevant way, rendering the messenger irrelevant, (un)credible and unreliable. Campus Life is all about the relationships and relationships are the key!

I’ve been part of Omaha Campus Life since 2007 loving each year. Before joining staff here I was a youth ministry volunteer and part time youth pastor. Now I’m part of the Millard neighborhood as the Millard West Area Campus Life Director. Millard West rocks!

I love the Millard West area!In my experiences, I’ve found that the students have their own unique culture. I’ve also found that there are so many parents that genuinely want the best for their students, and are willing to be involved to make it happen!

More About Jared (Aka J-Stew)

God has blessed me with an amazing family!  I've been married to my best friend, Bethany. We've known each other since 8th grade, and are able to laugh (a lot) about memories from middle and high school, old clothing styles, and how much we used to think we knew about life, marriage, and raising kids.  God has given us 4 beautiful kids of our own.  Elijah, our oldest, is our 9-year old engineer.  He reads and builds lego creations like it's his job.  Ezra is our 6-year old athlete.  He would play sports all day long if he could.  Lydia is our 4-year old princess.  She's the cutest 4-year old ever, and she knows how to work that angle.  Judah is our 2-year old champ!  He's differently-abled, which will always slow him down but will never stop him!  He brings joy and a smile to every soul that he meets.

When in junior high, his red-haired-head was about 3 times bigger than it should have been for the size of his body.  Unfortunately there are pictures to prove it.

Including his job now, Jared has had 16 "real" jobs since turning 15.  Is that weird?

Organizes closet - dress pants hang on one side and dress shirts on the other.  The things worn most recently all move to the center.
